About the Department

Background History

The Department of Mathematics started its journey with General course in Mathematics in the academic year 1978.Although Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya has been running many Honours courses in different disciplines, the introduction of Honours in mathematics was long delayed.However, the institution had finally managed to open Honours in Mathematics in the year 2004.Presently the department is being run by two State-aided college teachers (SACT) who joined the college on 1st december, 2008 and 18th july, 2011 respectively.The faculty members of the department engage in career counselling and mentoring to motivate the students and enrich their knowledge which in turn help them to build up their future career.Regular class tests and remedial coaching classes are conducted by the department in order to enhance academic performance of the students.
