About the Department

Background History

The Physical Education Department of Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya was introduced in the academic session 1995-96.Apart from the B.P.ED department, it is one of the most popular departments of the college.At the beginning, the department was run by Dr.Samiran Mondal who was the head of the department, Dr. Krishnendu Prodhan, Assistant Professor, Mr. Achinta Nayak, Assistant Professor and Mr. Bharat Jana, Assistant Professor.The department has extensive playground, well-equipped gymnasium and hostel facilities which attract students, both male and female, from far-off places.Presently it is one of the largest departments of the college with seven whole-time teachers and equal number of State-aided college teachers(SACT).With a number of dedicated and hard working teachers, the department has managed to curve a niche within the academic space of the college.
