About the Department

Background History

Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya is an undergraduate college located at Kapgari in the district of Jhargram of the state of West Bengal.It was established in the year 1964.Initially, the college did not offer any course in Sanskrit.However, in the year 2008, both Honours and General courses were introduced in the college keeping in mind the ever-increasing demand for the subject.With only 40 students and two faculty members, the department started its glorious journey.Presently, the department is being run by two full-time faculty members and three State-aided college teachers (SACT).Since its inception, the department has regularly engaged in academic activities by organizing seminars,special lectures for the benefit of the students.Regular class-tests and remedial coaching classes are conducted by the faculty members to enhance academic merit of the students.The faculty members of the department share a cordial relationship among themselves and the relationship between teachers and students is one of mutual respect.
