Background History:

Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya is located in the Jungle Mahal area of Jhargram District.A vast number of tribal people reside in this region.Santali Department is one of the most important departments of this college.It started its journey in the academic session 2005-2006 with 40 Students and one Teacher as a General Course. Honours Course in the department was introduced from the session 2007 – 2008 with 05 students and two teachers.Now the Department is running with 146 Honours & 76 General students having three Teachers, one Assistant Professor and two well-qualified SACT Teachers.After completion Bachelor’s Degree many Students have secured jobs in private sector, State Govt.services and Central Govt.services.Among them many have qualified NET/SET Exam and are serving as Assistant Professor and SACT Teachers in different Colleges and Universities.

Santali Department celebrates many cultural programmes from time to time such as SANTALI BHASHA DIVAS on 22nd December,VISWA ADIVASI DIVAS on 9th August,birth anniversary of PANDIT RAGHUNATH MURMU on 5th may etc.
